Weekly Update and Book Release News!

Hello friends and magnificent mystery-solvers throughout the realm! This is the weekly update about An Unexpected Wedding Invitation!
*** The printed book *** Open the castle gates, sound the fanfares and fill the air with confetti and rose petals!
We’ve received the last test print copies and everything looks good – which means that the book is ready to be released into your hands!!!
While we’ve been waiting for the test prints, we’ve stayed busy with sorting and preparing all the addresses. We’re doing all of this ourselves, so it took us a few (late) nights and required a barrel’s worth of strong coffee, but now we’re finally done and ready to go!
We’re currently finalising the payment to DriveThruRPG (the company that will print and ship the books). Once this step is complete, we’ll start the release! Huzzah!
An important note: We’ll be releasing the book in batches to make sure that we get everything right – there are lots and lots and lots of books that are being sent out!
This means that some will receive their email confirmation from DriveThruRPG before others as we’re working our way through the list of recipients.
*** The Collector’s Edition *** We’ve also ordered all of the Collector’s Edition books! They’re currently being shipped and are on their way to Oxford, where our minion and packing expert (that is, our youngest daughter) is waiting eagerly. Once we received the books, we’ll finish the boxes right away! :)

Weekly Update and Upcoming Book Release!

Hello friends and eminent explorers of riveting realms! This is your weekly update about An Unexpected Wedding Invitation!
*** The printed book is coming soon *** We got some excellent news to share: DriveThruRPG have sent us almost all of the updated test print books that we’ve ordered, and they look great! And once we’ve received the last remaining test print copies, the book will be ready to be released!
As we’re getting close to the shipping date, we’re now locking the addresses in the BackerKit survey. The addresses can be changed for one more day – so if you need to update your address details, please take a minute to do so. :)
*** The Collector’s Edition *** An update isn’t an update without an image – and this time, we thought we’d add a photo we took here at Midnight Tower of the pretty glass dice with red flowers that’ll go into the Collector’s Edition! We’re happy to say that we’ve now received all the items for the boxes, and we’re currently packing the last items. As soon as the books reach our doorstep, we’ll sign and wrap them too – and then the boxes will be on their way! :D
*** Eastern Farraway *** Huge thanks to everyone who has contacted us with questions and feedback about Eastern Farraway, where An Unexpected Wedding Invitation and all our other adventures take place! Many have asked if there’s an Eastern Farrawaycampaign guide with more information about the realms. There isn’t one yet, but a few bards have heard rumours at the taverns and claim that there might be loose plans for such a book…!

Weekly Update and Tokens!

Hello friends and ardent adventurers everywhere! Here’s your weekly update about An Unexpected Wedding Invitation!
*** Tokens *** Tove has finished all the VTT tokens for the adventure! Here’s an example of how one of them – in this case, Sirbastien D’arlington, the groom’s younger brother – was created from the first sketch to the finished token. You can get all the tokens from the adventure’s Additional Downloads page!
*** The printed version *** A lot has happened since the previous update! Late last week, we received the test prints from DriveThruRPG, and we immediately unpacked and checked them. We found a couple of things that we wanted to tweak, so we sent updated files back to DriveThruRPG on the same day. We also took the opportunity to fix a few typos spotted by eagle-eyed backers (thank you so much!!!).
We’re now waiting for new test prints – and, amazingly, DriveThruRPG have already reviewed the updated files and are currently preparing them for printing! That’s brilliant news as this hopefully means we’ll receive new test prints before long. As soon as we’ve checked that they look great, we’ll start the release of the book! Stay tuned for more information in these updates!! :)
*** The Collector’s Edition *** We’re waiting for the dice trays, but we’ve been notified by the post office here in the UK that the dice trays are in transit and near Oxford, so they’re likely to arrive here any day!
*** PDF release *** The download information for the PDFs has been emailed out to everyone! If you haven’t seen an email from us, please check your spam folder (or the Promotions folder, if you use Gmail) for emails from Midnight Tower. If the web goblins have stolen your email and scurried off with it, let us know at [email protected] and we’ll resend it right away!
We’d like to send out a massive thank you for all the fantastic feedback we’ve received!!! We hope that you and your player groups will have an absolutely brilliant time solving the mystery at Silver Lodge! *** PDF release *** The download details for the PDF version of the adventure have been emailed out to all backers! And we’ve also emailed out the download details for all PDF add-ons in a separate email. If you haven’t yet seen the email, please check your spam folder or the promotions folder (if you use Gmail). If the mischievous goblins have stolen your email and it’s nowhere to be found, contact us and we’ll sort it out for you.
A huge and heartfelt thank you for the great feedback and kind words that we’ve received! We can’t thank you – and our brilliant artists, of course – for helping us make this book.
This project has been amazing and it has been tremendously fun to work with!
*** The printed version *** The book has been sent to DriveThruRPG and it sailed through the first step of the review, and the book is currently getting prepared for test printing! This is great news as this process usually takes longer, and we’re now eagerly waiting for updates about when our test print is on its way. As soon as we’ve checked that everything is in order, we’ll start the release of the book. Excitement galore!

*** The Collector’s Edition *** We’re still waiting for the last of the items for the Collector’s Edition boxes, but hopefully it shouldn’t be long before they reach our doorstep. Meanwhile, here’s a video of the leathermaker Chris in action as she’s working away on the bookmarks for the box!
We’re also filling our house with boxes and wrapping paper, while our youngest daughter is busy with putting wax seals on the envelopes to the collector’s letters.
*** Card charges *** Just a quick mention of that some cards that hadn’t yet been charged for shipping and/or add-ons have now been charged by BackerKit.

Weekly Update and a Surprise Mini-Adventure!

Hello friends and chivalrous champions! Here’s your weekly update about An Unexpected Wedding Invitation!
*** Surprise mini-adventure! *** We’ve loved working on this book and it ended up longer than expected, and therefore some of the ideas that we came up with couldn’t be squeezed into the page limit. However, during the Kickstarter you could vote for what you wanted to see in the compendium, and one of the options was Zombie Apocalypse.
Initially Tove wrote a short alternative ending to the adventure, where Silver Lodge is getting invaded by zombies. But, it was so much fun writing it, eventually it grew into a small mini-adventure.
It’s a pay what you like adventure, so you can get it for FREE or donate a small sum if you like. Tips are always appreciated! :) Happy gaming!
The mini-adventure can be used as an alternative and extended zombie-invasion-ending to An Unexpected Wedding Invitation, but you can also run it separately as a one-shot adventure with another group or drop it into your campaign.
*** PDF release *** Sound the trumpets, open the gates, and ready the cake:
The PDF is being released this week!!! :D
Starting tomorrow, on Tuesday, we’ll start releasing the digital copy of the book An Unexpected Wedding Invitation.The PDF will be released in batches, and we hope that we’ll manage to get all of them out during the week. (Midnight Tower consists of only two people, so we can’t handle a huge amount of admin at one time.)
If you’ve pledged for a digital add-on, the download details for these will also be sent out this week!
*** The book *** And there’s more: We’ve just submitted the book for test printing!!!
Hurrah! So we’re now eagerly waiting for DriveThruRPG to run their checks, print a copy for us to check, and send it back to us! We’ll keep you posted on the progress right here in these updates, so stay tuned for more news soon!
